Well, I may end up having to go that route. :(

Anyway, I've attached the little masonry poché block .dwg that I mentioned earlier so you (and anyone else who
may be interested) may be able to see a little better what I've been talking about.  It's pretty small, so I hope
no one minds.

Just insert it in a drawing a few times, and explode any one (or more) of the inserts.  The resulting lwpolylines
entities should still be grouped together.

Here's a <snip> of my command line, showing what I get when I examine the block subentities.  Note especially
that the lwpolyline subentities are tied to a group reactor - in this case, <Entity name: 4790f88>.  Also note
that *that* particular Group entity has a dxf group 70 code of 3.  I can't help but think that this has something
to do with the group being part of a block.

While it is true that you can't wblock out a drawing containing a group and have the group survive when you
re-insert it - if you insert a drawing *containing* a group, the group does come into the drawing - as the
attached .dwg shows.

Strange stuff, I guess.
